      Career aspirations:

My current career aspiration is to be employed as a company dancer. The skills required for this include: A thorough knowledge of/training in required dance styles; physical fitness, stamina and perseverance; motivation and discipline; communication and interpersonal skills; creativity; resilience; confidence and self-belief and the ability to work as part of a team. Personally, I believe that I, to an extent, have all of these skills, however I think that I need to focus on my ballet technique and training as this is the skill I've put the least amount of time into developing.

The easiest way to develop the skills I need for this job, would be to train in contemporary dance at a university or dance conservatoire to gain a BA in dance. My ideal choices of places to train at would be The Place (London Contemporary Dance School), Laban conservatoire of music and dance, Emil Dale Academy, Chichester University or Middlesex University. Although The Emil Dale Academy does not offer solely a dance course, they offer a 1 year gap year training course that would provide me with higher level training in jazz, ballet, contemporary and commercial dance, which would greatly help me to improve my technique and ability if I were to be unsuccessful in my applications/auditions to The Place or Laban.

Alternatively, I am also interested in SFX makeup and makeup for stage, the skills required for this include: creativity and imagination; good communication and people skills; patience and concentration; the ability to work well under pressure and excellent attention to detail. To further improve my knowledge and skills in this field I could take short courses to learn new skills, for example at the Shaune Harrison Academy, they run 2 1-week courses (Masterclass course and Injury and body wounds) and a 6-week prosthetic and FX makeup course.
